Guidelines for Framing of Manuscript

1. Standard and Order

(1) The manuscript shall be framed in Korean or in English and so on, and the Korean papers may use Chinese characters or English letters together. The manuscript shall be framed Area-A Hangul Version 3.0 or higher in A4 papers with the font of Shinmyoungjo, striation spacing of 200%, and size of letters of 12 points.

(2) The manuscript shall have only the title of paper in Korean and English in the first page, with the English title at the bottom in the Korean and Englishmanuscript.

(3) The manuscript in Korean shall have the descriptive English ABSTRACT is required within 200 words.
ABSTRACT consists of three main sections:
Background should state briefly the main purpose of the work.
Methods and Results should describe briefly experimental methods explaining to reach main results.
Conclusions should major conclusions and significant of the articles based on experimental results.
The authors may provide a maximum of 10 Key Words immediately after the abstract. Key Words should be typed in scientific name(s) followed alphabetical order by spacing with 'comma' between each. The first letter of each key word must be capital.

(4) The order of manuscript shall be written bold in the ABSTRACT, INTRODUCTION, MATERIALS AND METHODS, RESULTS(or RESULTS AND DISCUSSION), and REFERENCE in the manuscript in Korean, and in the ABSTRACT, INTRODUCTION, MATERIALS AND METHODS, RESULTS(or RESULTS AND DISCUSSION), and REFERENCE in the manuscript in English.When ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS are needed, they shall be added as a separate paragraph after the discussion.

(5) The scientific name of the publicly announced crop name shall be written only when it is mentioned for the first time.In the scientific name, the generic name and the specific name shall be written in italics, and the author, var., and so on shall be written in Roman.

(6) When indicating the reference in the text, put "과 (and)" in between the authors in case a paper in Korean of two authors, and put "등 (et al.,)" in case of a paper in Korean of three or more authors. In addition, put "and" in between the author names in case of a paper in English of two authors, and indicate as "Lee et al.," in case of a paper in English of three or more authors. {Kim과 Lee (2008); Kim 등 (2008); Lee and Kim (2008); Lee et al., (2008a, b)}.


<Example> The studies on biological activity of Korean angelica root that have been reported include the skin aging (Chung, 2012), antidiabetic (Kim and Lee, 1996), antioxidant (Bang et al., 2007), and anti-inflammatory (Kim et al., 2012; Park and Kong, 2012).
<Example> Park and Kim (2012), and Park et al., (1990) said that the time of cuttage is very important following the kind in the examination on rooting percentage by time of cuttage.
<Example> The examination on the rooting percentage by time of cuttage said that the time of cuttage is very important by kind (Park and Kim, 2012; Park et al., 2011).


(7) When the text cites a Table or a Figure, indicate it as follows.

<Example> As in the Table 1 or Fig. 1, in view of the impacts on the time of cuttage and the number of uprooting by treatment of growth regulator......
<Example> Table 1 or Fig. 1 shows the rooting percentage by treatment of growth regulator following the time of cuttage.
<Example> On the rooting percentage by treatment of growth regulator following the time of cuttage, it seems......
(Table 1 or Fig. 1).

 

2. Units and Abbreviations

(1) Proper nouns such as a person's name and the name of a place shall be in the original language, the year shall be in A.D., and the weights and measures shall be in the unit of C.G.S.

(2) The full name of what appears for the first time shall be written along with the abbreviations or short designation, and then the abbreviations shall be used from the next time.

3. Tables, Figures, and Photographs

(1) The title and explanation shall be written in English briefly so that the readers can grasp the contents even though they do not refer to the text.

<Example> Table 1. Effect of cutting dates and shading ratio on root length in Acanthopanax sp.
<Example> Fig. 1. Change of chlorophyll fluorescence of S. deltoides grown under four different shading treatments.


(2) Make each of the tables, figures, and photographs as an annexed paper, and give the serial number as Table 1., Fig. 1., and Photo. 1. In addition, make the first letter of title shall be in capitals, and put a period (.) at the end.

(3) The title of a Table shall be on the top, and the title of a Figure or a Photograph shall be on the bottom.

(4) The Tables and Figures shall be clearly framed keeping in mind that the width shall be 8.2 cm or 17.3 cm at the time of printing, and the location of insertion of Tables and Figures in the text shall be indicated in red.

(5) The additional explanation symbol of Tables, Figures, and so on shall be indicated in the order with a superscript, and in particular, the indication of statistical significance test (*) shall be indicated with a superscript (*) on the right top of the Table or Figure.


4. Reference

(1) Every literature shall be limited to what has been cited in the text, and shall be framed in English.

(2) The author name of reference shall be listed in the order of alphabet with no number.In addition, when there are two or more literatures of the same author, they shall be listed in the order of year.

(3) In case of an academic journal, write in the order of author name, year, title, name of academic journal, volume, and page, and the name of academic journal shall be in full name.In case of books, the author name (or the name of translator), year, title of book, name of publishing company, name of city, name of state (in case of the U.S.), name of country, and the first page and the last page (or the Chapters) shall be written in order along with the example sentence. When the authors are two or more persons, follow the method of indication of academic journal.In case of patents, write the name of patent applicant (or the patent holder), year, name of patent, country of patent application, and application number (or the registration number) in order as the example sentence.When the owners of a patent right are two or more persons, follow the method of indication of academic journal.
